David Chao, Principal

David Chao is an experienced strategic thinker and has been a technology thought leader for the past 15 years. With a diverse background from motion pictures to the Internet, he brings a unique perspective to the technology market with his experience in financial services, movies, manufacturing and technology. His skills are focused on setting clear, sustainable strategic differentiators and then manically executing.

David was the chief strategist and vice president of business development for NTT/Verio, a wholly owned subsidary of NTT Communications. NTT/Verio is one of the world's largest hosting companies and was an early pioneer in the Internet. He was responsible for the company's SMB strategic direction as well as leading the strategic input into the functional groups of the company. He was responsible for product direction and vision, marketing, strategic alliances and the indirect sales channel. In addition, David was responsible for the global strategic direction and implementation of relationships with Microsoft and Accenture for NTT Communications.

Previously, David was vice president of business development and marketing for ePresence Inc., a provider of secure identity management for thr Internet, and prior to that, he was vice president of sales and business development for Navidec Inc., a solutions and software infrastructure company. His extensive experience in software development and system integration includes working with SUN, Netegrity, BEA, IBM Tivoli and others. David also held various business development and marketing positions with companies including Siemens Information Communication Networks and AccessWorldwide Communications.

David enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors fly-fishing and playing golf.

Catherine Houdek

Cate's career spans over twenty years of sales and marketing experience for companies ranging from start-up ventures to Fortune 500 firms, primarily in high-tech, including Software Publishing Corporation, Lotus Development and IBM. She was the first employee and VP of Marketing for ASP-One, a start-up in the cloud computing space of application hosting that focused on Hosted Exchange. ASP-One is now part of Apptix.

Regardless of the industry or company size, Cate's ability to understand and grasp the needs of a situation allow her to share best practices and tackle a wide range of marketing and business development challenges. With experience in both direct and indirect sales, industry-specific solutions, web strategy and development, content marketing, branding, marketing research and new product and service launches, she has proven herself to be a multi-talented, 'can do' contributor.

Cate holds a BA in Communications from Roosevelt University and an MA in Liberal Studies from Northwestern University.

Whether it's climbing one of Colorado's 14ers or taking a few turns down the slopes of one of several world-class ski resorts close to home, Cate enjoys being outdoors. As a result of being surrounded by majestic, 9000' views along the Continental Divide, Cate brings clarity and inspiration to all her projects.

Curtis Armijo

Curtis Armijo is an experienced website strategist and search engine marketer, providing clients with focused knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and Paid Placement to help reach new markets, increase exposure and grow sales.

Having started multiple, successful small companies, he brings knowledge of business models and marketing to each client project along with a true understanding of what it takes to achieve success in small business. As President of ACI Components, a California-based electronic component importing business, he successfully grew the business 500% over 5 years. After that, he became the director of a color graphics printing equipment reseller that grew to over $2 million within 4 years. It was there that he began his foray into the internet business model. Armed with this knowledge, he and a partner created Digital Assets, Inc., a full-service Interactive & Online Marketing agency offering innovative strategy, design and development services. Having started the SEO/SEM division at Digital Assets in 2003, he brings valuable, firsthand experience and knowledge to all CBD Management web marketing projects.

Curtis works hard and plays hard, training every morning at 5 a.m. to compete in distance cycling events. He also enjoys playing and spending time with his wife and three young children.

Matt Weeden

As the youngest member of CBD Management, Matt brings three years of design experience in both print and Web applications. He was a Print Production Artist for a national jewelry wholesaler, responsible for catalogs and other printed and online promotional materials representing over 120,000 products. He is now engaging more thoroughly in Web design and development. His technical proficiencies include Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), QuarkXPress, Flash, Dreamweaver, web coding and e-commerce. He is fluent in both Macintosh OS and Windows.

Whether through continuing education or learning on the fly, Matt has the capacity to quickly adapt to new challenges as he stays on top of the latest technology advances. He lends a creative edge to all CBD Management projects with a fresh perspective and innovative ideas, as well as an eye for detail and project management skill.

Matt holds a BFA in graphic design and drawing from Colorado State University, and is currently pursuing a Master Certificate in Web Design from Sessions Online School of Design.

In his free time he enjoys playing the guitar and other instruments, reading, swing dancing with his wife and getting out in the beautiful Colorado landscape.
